Democrat Socialist Progressive Caucus Members in the 107th Congress

MEMBERS OF CONGRESS IN THE PROGRESSIVE CAUCUS

See: Website (http://bernie.house.gov/pc/)

February 23, 2001

I have been asked by readers to provide the names of members of Congress who are in the Congressional Progressive Caucus - a wing of the Democratic Socialists of America. To access on line enter "Progressive Caucus" on their website search engine. http://www.dsausa.org/dsa.html

The Democrat Socialist website takes a lot of credit for exerting pressure on the Bush administration for the following:
*

Thanks in part to Progressive Caucus pressure, Bush continues to allow African nations access to low-priced AIDS drugs; Financial-aid system favors middle-income students as low-income students
* NPR reviews the American People's Dividend as Rep. Kucinich promotes the plan; Bush begins barrage: President set to ink 4 executive orders to weaken labor laws; General Motors joins the fight to prevent further fleecing by the pharmaceutical industry * Labor unions anticipating show-down with right-wing, pro-corporate Administration; Bush tax plan means cut-backs for science/research funding; Administration mute on environmental concerns: international community forges ahead, leaves US behind
* GOP dissenter: Sen. Jim Jeffords (R-VT) withdraws support of Bush tax plan; Finance Committee Chairman Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) rings the death knell for Bush's prescription drug "plan"; Farmers lose billions as California energy crisis continues

To find the addresses, websites, and e-mail for these members of Congress - and your own if not listed - go to: Contact Congress - http://www.bannerofliberty.com/PLobby/ContactCongress.html

In the 107th Congress 55 members of Congress are Democrat Socialists. That is down from 58 in the 106th Congress. The socialists in Congress are a minority, but are highly effective because they have easy access to the national media and their followers are well financed and organized.

Have you written to your member of Congress and Senators lately?
